The Brief

Pax Romana is a Mediterranean tapas and cocktail bar on Vancouver's Commercial Drive, known for its playful personality, shared plates, and inventive cocktails. They needed a website that captured the restaurant's energy — moody, intimate, and fun — and brought that experience online.

Our Approach

Pax Romana has a distinct personality and the website needed to match it from the first scroll. We created an animated splash screen with the restaurant's logo and an "Enter" button — a deliberate threshold moment that sets the mood before visitors even reach the homepage. From there, we leaned into rich photography, bold layout choices, and a playful design language that reflected the restaurant's take on Roman hospitality.
